The Wynnum Manly Seagulls are gearing up for an exciting start to their 2025 QRL HostPlus Cup campaign, with their first competition match on home turf against the Burleigh Bears on March 16. As regular top-six contenders in the Queensland competition, both teams are expected to bring their A-game, making this a thrilling must-see match.

Seagulls head coach Mathew Head is confident in his squad, thanks to a strong pre-season and a well-balanced mix of returning talent and new recruits. “We are very happy with how our playing group has prepared and developed over a gruelling pre-season,” he said. “Our attitudes and application have been first class. Now, we have the chance to perform in real-time.”

Game one of the HostPlus Cup sees the Wynnum Manly Seagulls take on the Tweed Seagulls over the border at Piggabeen Sports Complex on March 8. Round two marks the Seagulls’ first home game on Sunday, March 16, with five games to be played throughout the day at Kougari Oval:
