What's On

The Waterloo Bay Leisure Centre is pleased to announce its August events calendar.

MINI FUN FAIR AND MARKET AT THE SHIRE CLERK’S COTTAGE

SATURDAY AUGUST 20, 8am to 1pm – 241 Tingal Road, Wynnum
Come along to this special market and browse the 70-plus stalls in the grounds of the Shire Clerk’s Cottage and in the Waterloo Bay Leisure Centre auditorium. The market showcases local talented artists and craftspeople with items for sale including arts, crafts, jewellery, clothing, home-baked goods, plants and much more.

In addition to the usual stalls, the August market will feature a mini fun fair with special entertainment for children including pony rides, face painting, fairy floss, and 100 free showbags to give away to the first 100 children aged under 12. There will be no mechanical rides.

As with every market, delicious Devonshire Teas will be served on the verandah of the cottage. Fresh scones are baked on site on market day. The cottage is open for viewing on market day, with Iris the lady dressed in pink greeting guests and Laurie playing the accordion.

We look forward to seeing all our regular visitors as well as welcoming new visitors to this community market. The market is run by volunteers and raises much needed funds for the Waterloo Bay Leisure Centre.
