FROM THE DANCE AND THEATRE FACTORY, TINGALPA
If you’re looking for a great school holiday activity for the kids, The Youth Musical Theatre Collective’s Frozen JR workshop – held in partnership with The Dance and Theatre Factory – could be just the ticket!
Future stars aged six to 18 with a passion for dancing, singing or acting are encouraged to join the January workshop hosted by The Dance and Theatre Factory in Tingalpa.
Over two weeks, students will prepare for two performances of Frozen JR, based on the hit Broadway musical. The show features all the memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production.
The workshop runs from January 12 to 21 and is delivered by industry professionals. Lead roles will develop their characters and learn the show over 10 days, with the ensemble joining them for the final six days of the workshop.
“Over these days, your child will develop skills in confidence, teamwork, creativity, passion, singing, dancing and performing, all while making new friends along the way,” said Dance and Theatre Factory Principal Lyn Pelgrave.
“Participants will be involved in all facets of production, including costumes, lighting, staging, creating and learning choreography. The workshop will culminate in a dazzling performance for family and friends, designed to showcase the talents and efforts of your child.”
The workshop fee includes the daily workshop, costumes, props and learning materials. Leads (10 days) for $395, Ensemble (six days) $345 and Junior Ensemble (six to eight years, six days) $295.
