Taking strides to save lives – Gift of Life Walk supporting organ & tissue donation
Locals from Wynnum Manly and beyond are invited to attend our annual Gift of Life walk at the Wynnum Manly foreshore.
On Sunday, 2 June, join a group of passionate supporters to raise awareness for organ and tissue donation by taking strides to save lives.
First organised by Bayside local Margie Kruger in 2021, the Wynnum Manly walk is one way to get the community together and help spread the word about registering as an organ and tissue donor.
Margie has been advocating for organ and tissue donation through DonateLife since her partner passed away while waiting for a lung transplant in 2007. Like many other generous Australians, her partner was able to help others by donating tissue.
“The walk is a great way to start conversations with family and friends about organ and tissue donation. Our hope is that more Australians can receive a life-changing transplant with more families saying yes to donation.”
