ABOUT THE BAYSIDE COMMUNITY FUND

WHAT IS IT?

The Bayside Community Fund is a newly established charitable fund designed to support the bayside community.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I DONATE TO THE FUND?

All donations to the fund will remain in the fund in perpetuity. That means your money stays in the fund forever, with the interest distributed to back to the community.

HOW ARE FUNDS GIVEN BACK TO THE BAYSIDE COMMUNITY?

Donations to the fund are invested. The interest generated by the fund is then given back to those in the community in need – community groups, local organisations or worthy causes in the geographical boundaries of the Lytton electorate.

When the fund has a large enough base to generate interest, the local committee will invite community  groups to apply for grants.

Grant applications will be assessed based on several criteria, with money awarded based on the amount of funding available and each application’s merit.

WHO MANAGES THE MONEY?

The Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) and The Public Trustee manage the fund’s investments and legal framework.

WHO DECIDES WHO GETS FUNDING?

The Bayside Community Fund has a volunteer committee comprised of local community members. These people come from all walks of life, have diverse skill sets, and, most of all, are invested in the future of the bayside and its people. They do not receive any payment or financial incentives for being on the committee.

ARE DONATIONS TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?

Yes! All donations are tax-deductible.

HOW DO I DONATE TO THE FUND?

Would you like to plan a fundraiser to help your community? Big or small, The Bayside Community Fund  could benefit from your fundraising event.

Other ways to become involved include bequests, community organisation partnerships and corporate  sponsorships.
