Ingenia Communities, with the support of its first residents, has broken ground on a multimillion-dollar luxury clubhouse and sports precinct at its over-50s community, Sanctuary Victoria Point.

The Bushland Retreat is the very first of its kind for Ingenia’s Sanctuary community and was celebrated in a sod-turning ceremony by residents, Ingenia representatives, State Member for Redlands, Kim Richards MP and Redland City Councillor Lance Hewlett.

Ingenia Executive General Manager Residential Justin Blumfield said the Bushland Retreat will provide an avenue for residents to maintain their physical health, create long-lasting connections with like-minded neighbours and forge a strong sense of community.

“When the idea for the clubhouse and sports precinct came about, we wanted to ensure residents were given the opportunity to vote for their favourite name and this process was received positively by the community,” Mr Blumfield said.

“This inclusive approach has allowed residents to have a personal stake in the development, fostering a sense of pride and ownership amongst the community.

“We know how much our residents value connecting with one another, the Bushland Retreat will provide an avenue for residents to maintain their physical health, create long lasting connections with like-minded neighbours and forge a strong sense of community,” Mr Blumfield said.

“Much like its namesake, the Bushland Retreat has been designed to integrate seamlessly with the natural bushland corridor that defines Sanctuary Victoria Point.”

Sanctuary Victoria Point residents Narelle and Wayne McKinnon said the community couldn’t wait for the facility to be complete.

“We are all very eager to get in there and make the most of what the Bushland Retreat has to offer. Everyone has been buzzing around and talking about how wonderful it is that the works are so close to starting, and now that the first sod has been turned, we’ll all be waiting for the official opening,” Mrs McKinnon said.

“My husband can’t wait to use the extra community space and is eager to use the swimming pool, gym and golf simulator.”

Upon completion, the Bushland Retreat will feature an array of amenities, including a sports pavilion, bowling green, gym and yoga room, resort pool, cinema, arts and craft studio, library, lounge, and much more.
