About this volunteering position

There are so many ways to get involved and help Legacy keep the promise to the families of those who served our country.

Many of our programs and services depend on volunteers, to enable us to continue to make a difference to the lives of these families.

Legacy is fortunate to have dedicated members, known as Legatees. However, as our work continues to grow, Legacy is looking for passionate people to lend their time, share their skills and assist in various activities.

Legacy offers a range of short and long-term volunteer opportunities. Find a role that suits you today.

How to get involved with volunteering

Volunteers are especially needed during our signature campaigns times however we are always looking for those wanting to lend their time to help with any number of tasks.

Become a community visitor

Check-in with a family or individual that Legacy helps, to ensure they are socially connected and have the support they need.

Raise funds and awareness

Raise awareness for Legacy and collect donations, through talking to the community about the work we do.

Support during Legacy Week

Volunteers can help by selling in their local area in the first week of September each year.

Help out at one-off events

Several events arise throughout the year where we need extra pairs of hands to serve food, distribute brochures or run activities.

About the organisation

Legacy Bayside

Our community at Legacy is devoted to enhancing the lives of families of veterans who have served in war, peacekeeping and humanitarian missions, and who have died or become seriously injured either in service or subsequently.

Legacy is supported by the work of our dedicated Legatees, volunteers, staff members and widows. These individuals make up a dynamic community of people, ranging from schoolchildren to senior citizens.

Legacy cares for more than 28,000 beneficiaries including 1,600 children and youth (0-26 years) and 1,000 beneficiaries with a disability.

It is with their assistance that Legacy is able to continue working to support our veterans’ families.
