About THE DANCE AND THEATRE FACTORY

THE DANCE AND THEATRE FACTORY

As the name suggests, the Dance and Theatre Factory is a fun, family-friendly hub full of excitement, friendship and adventure named after what we do: Dance and Theatre!

Launched in 2008 under the direction of Lyn Pelgrave to foster and encourage developing dancers and musical theatre performing artists, The Dance and Theatre Factory has continued to grow and blossom bigger and brighter each year.

Recreational classes are offered for all ages, along with classes for those who aspire to a professional career in the performing arts as either performers or teachers. Everyone is welcome to attend, with classes and workshops open to ages two years to adult.

Our staff, who are all qualified industry professionals, believe in fostering relationships and developing the youth of our community into confident, capable and successful young men and women.

Students can participate in a variety of activities, including:

–           Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Contemporary and Lyrical Dance.

–           Solo, group, choir and show choir singing.

–           Acting and Musical Theatre.

Classes run during school terms throughout the year.

Plus, there’s no chance of boredom during the school holidays, with various workshops available. Workshops focus on nurturing musical theatre and dance skills and are run by industry professionals.

The Dance and Theatre Factory also offers students the opportunity for families to become involved with our participation in interstate musical theatre events and overseas trips with performances at international locations.

TDTF, as it is commonly called, is proud to be a local bayside business centrally located between Wynnum, Manly, Tingalpa, Wakerley and Gumdale on Wondall Road, opposite Moreton Bay College.

Each year The Dance and Theatre Factory stage up to four musicals., showcases, cabarets and dance concerts, as well as participating in external performances for community events where every student is invited to be involved at some level.
