CONTRIBUTED BY THE DANCE AND THEATRE FACTORY
While kids everywhere cooled off this summer holidays at the beaches, 44 rising stars aged six to 18 beat the heat this summer, getting snowed-in with a production of Frozen Jr, run by the Youth Musical Theatre Collective and The Dance and Theatre Factory.
The summer holiday workshop ran for ten days, and the cast learnt the material, choreography, music and staging under the direction of Lyn Pelgrave, Musical Director Robert Clark and Choreographer Kayleigh Bancroft to perform the final production to three sold-out audiences who were blown away by the show.
Developing skills in confidence, teamwork, creativity, passion, singing, dancing and performing, the cast made lifelong friendships and encouraged and supported each other throughout their journey.
Following the success of Frozen Jr, The Youth Musical Theatre Collective and The Dance and Theatre Factory is excited to announce their next productions for 2023, open to all ages from Prep to 18 years.
Open to primary school-age children comes the lovable tale of Seussical Jr. Seussical JR weaves a story of friendship, loyalty, and love. Despite all odds, Horton and Gertrude band together to save the Whos, free Horton, and restore peace and unity to the Jungle of Nool. Seussical JR teaches us the power of being unique and the importance of fighting for your beliefs.
Branching into the older members of the family, high school students will have the opportunity for two productions with the options of exploring the crazy, zany and kooky world of The Addams Family. This comical feast embraces the wackiness in every family, telling the story of Wednesday Addams falling in love!
As a proud supporter of the Bayside Community Fund, The Dance and Theatre Factory has made a donation to the fund following the success of the show and looks forward to supporting the fund more in the future.
