About the event

MATES Theatre Genesis brings Melanie Tait’s heart-warming Aussie comedy to the stage.
Based on a True Story:
Penny Anderson, returns to her childhood town of Appleton and discovers a disparity in prize money for the town’s famous Potato Race – the men’s prize is five times more than the womens’ prize. Outraged, Penny campaigns to bring equality to the Appleton Show.
All shows will be performed at Donald Simpson Community Centre.
Evening Shows: Jan. 24, 30, 31 & Feb 1 – 7:30pm
Matinee: Jan 26 at 10am & 2pm

About the host
MATES Theatre Genesis was established in 1990, and is a community-based, theatrical society, generally operating from The School of Arts Hall at 101 Birkdale Rd, Birkdale, and also with events held at Donald Simpson Centre, Cleveland. Affectionately known as MATES, we aim: to nurture an inclusive performing arts community in the Redlands community.
