About the event
The Book Plate Art Project – Redlands is an art project which is designed to strengthen connections between artists, Redland City Council Libraries and the community.
Redlands library visitors can discover 400 small artworks placed inside library books throughout June 2025. Discover and keep small artworks by established artists including Michael Zavros, Delvene Cockatoo-Collins and Renata Buziak, as well as photographer Kara Rosenlund and emerging artists Mahala Burns, and Budla Malu (Mikayla Queary & Jhavon Auda).
Registration is now open for community contributions to the project too. Emerging and established artists and creatives can volunteer to take part and share their art inside library books by registering at www.hometurfart.com. It’s free to take part. When you register, we’ll send you more information on the project and how you can get involved. Follow our social media accounts to see commissioned artist and community contributions on Instagram @hometurf.art and Facebook @hometurfart.
There will also be a free Book Plate Art Workshop for young people at Redland Art Gallery on 11 July, 2025. Please see the Gallery website for more information and registration details in the coming weeks.
Let’s work together to create something special for the Redlands Coast community. The Book Plate Art Project is presented by Home Turf Art and proudly supported by a RADF grant. The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Redland City Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
