CONTRIBUTED BY THE MANLY HARBOUR VILLAGE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Once a quiet fishing village, Manly’s days of hibernation are long gone. Emerging here is a vibrant village that comes alive when the sun sets. As the days grow shorter, experience the magic of Manly after dark.
Manly Harbour Village is the ideal location for a date night under the stars, with an abundance of premium dining, shopping and live music options in the precinct. The eagerly awaited opening of The Arsonist, a fire-powered restaurant bringing open flame cooking to Manly’s Esplanade, is the hot topic around town. Be among the first to experience the locally sourced menu by Mat Fulford, former executive chef at Sirromet Winery. What’s not to love about char-grilled or slow cooked meat, cooked on a custom-built wood-fired pit and grill, with some premium gin on the side? The Arsonist opens this winter – join the VIP list at www.thearsonist.com.au/ and be one of the first to experience this new luxe dining venue looking out over the lights of Manly Marina.
Of course, spectacular winter skies over the Bay are standard fare by the Marina, and the area is ‘glowing’ as new street tree lighting adorn the park and high street, beautifying the already charming precinct. Further Brisbane City Council plans for the harbourside and street areas of Manly Village precinct are now underway, with the final improvements including bespoke seating with LED lighting, new shade trees and refreshed garden beds, plus expanded creative lighting and projection artworks designed by local artist Delvene Cockatoo-Collins.
Looking for the perfect excuse to see the magic of Manly by night for yourself? Don’t miss the next free Movies in the Park event on the first Saturday of every month – in June, we are excited to bring you the People’s Choice – Disney’s Frozen and in July, Australian classic, Bran Nue Dae is on the big screen.
Experience a wonderland in the heart of Manly this winter.
