What’s your business? I am a marketing assistant for Softlink IC (a software business).
Do you have any fun/interesting stories about your job? Our business provides library, knowledge and research management software to some of the largest law firms and parliamentary, government and corporate libraries. Our mascot is a furry little alpaca called Alex!
What’s your favourite local dine-in and take-away? That’s easy – for dine-in, it’s The Punjab Curry Club, and for take-away, Mamma Mia’s pizza!
Best local activity: Getting out on the bay in our boat. We don’t even have to go far; Peel Island is magic.
What’s the last book you read? The Bullet That Missed: A Thursday Murder Club Mystery Book by Richard Osman.
What was the last TV show or movie you watched? I just finished watching Silo, which is on Apple TV. It’s based on the Wool series by Hugh Howey, and oh so good!
Is there anything you’d like to see happen in the local area? I’d love to see the Cleveland CBD reinvigorated and some new businesses to complement what we’ve got – maybe some lovely new restaurants or cafés. I’m a bit of a foodie.
Is there a local business/community group/club you’d like to shout out to? That’d have to be Redland Museum. I volunteer there, and it’s great. There’s a fantastic group of volunteers (and four paid staff) who work tirelessly to capture the stories of our past for the future. We also punch above our weight when it comes to cracker events and exhibitions. Do yourself a favour and pop in for a visit, attend an event or see an exhibition.
