Name: Kathryn Steinhardt.
Suburb: I live in Wynnum and work in Manly.
What’s your business? SteinArt Graphic Design.
Do you have any fun/interesting stories about your job? I work with a collective of small businesses, and we support and help each other grow personally and professionally. And SteinArt is a play on my surname, in case you hadn’t worked it out.
What’s your favourite local dine-in and take-away? Indian Spicy Villa is my go-to take-away, they make simply the best Indian around. But I do love to dine-in, and at the moment would choose the newly opened The Arsonist in Manly for its amazing menu and fantastic service (and logo that I helped create).
Best local activity? Okay, don’t laugh at the thought of me shaking my booty, but I try to never miss a Zumba class. It’s soo much fun with Daniella at Bayside Dance.
The last book you read? The Dictionary of Lost Words, a novel by Pip Williams. A wonderful story told around well researched historical facts. I recommend it, give it a try.
The last tv show or movie you watched? I’m currently at the end of season 3 of American Horror Story. And then I’ll need to take a break, because, well, the ‘horror’. It’s right there in the title and yet I still watch it. When will I learn?
Is there anything you’d like to see happen in the local area? I would love to see e-scooters brought to Wynnum and Manly for visitors to easily and quickly travel along the esplanade to both areas. I think it would be a great attraction to the area and it would help unite the two suburbs. It would also encourage visitors to come up from the esplanade to the Wynnum and Manly CBDs, improving awareness of what we have available in our local area, and hopefully convert into more sales for shop owners and local businesses.
Is there a local business/community group/club you’d like to give a shout-out to? I would like to give a shout-out to Wynnum Commerce Inc. They’ve only just formed over the past 12 months, but it consists already of such a large group of locals from all walks of life, all collaborating for the benefit of the area. I am honoured to be included in their journey and excited to see where we are 12 months on. Keep an eye out, great things are coming (hopefully those e-scooters eh?).
