Where do you work? I am a Senior Associate at DBL Solicitors Wynnum, specialising in Family Law and Estate Planning.
Do you have any fun or interesting stories about your job? My first court appearance took place two months after I was admitted as a Solicitor, where I was attending for a co-worker who said it would be a simple adjournment. It was, in fact, a very important court appearance, so I channelled my best ‘Elle Woods’ and thankfully achieved a successful outcome for the client.
What’s your favourite local dine-in and take-away? I can’t go a fortnight without Tasty Pocket’s delicious fried whitebait with tzatziki and lemon. Do yourself a favour and give it a whirl.
What would you recommend as a great local activity? Being a mother of a toddler who loves the water, I am so grateful to be able to visit the Whale Park at Wynnum, particularly in the summer. It is endless entertainment for my boy.
What’s the last book you read? Mothering our Boys by Maggie Dent. In order to be the best mother I can be, I need as much information as I can get, and who better to get it from than the queen of common sense.
What’s the last TV show or movie you watched? Survivor, the combination of strategy and physical endurance they need to be crowned winner is impressive TV viewing.
Is there anything you’d like to see happen in the local area? It would be incredible if we had access to Brisbane CBD via the CityCat.
Is there a local business, club or community group you’d like to give a shout-out to? Each Wynnum. They provide amazing services to the elderly, bringing them together through a variety of activities such as morning teas, crafting and day trips.
