Once again, the new Prep students at Lota State School will be provided with uniquely beautiful and durable library bags courtesy of the Wynnum Manly Boomerang Bags group.
Boomerang Bags is a not-for-profit organisation tackling plastic bag pollution at its source. They engage communities in the development of an innovative alternative to single-use plastic bags – community-made, reusable bags from preloved, recycled or reclaimed materials.
Money from the sale of the bags made by the volunteers has been subsequently donated to SAILS at Bayside. SAILS at Bayside aims to help young people overcome difficulties, reach their potential and actively engage in community life through sailing, kayaking and life skills.
