FROM LOTA STATE SCHOOL

Lota State School is growing…delicious food that is! During March, students from the Environmental Club harvested (and then subsequently ate) 115 potatoes, two watermelons, seven pineapples and a dragon fruit from their gardens.

What else edible is growing right now at Lota School? Wheat, cucamelons, rosellas, potatoes, sweet potatoes, pineapples, madagascar beans, corn, zucchinis, tomatoes, chillies, watermelon, strawberries, arrowroot, snowpeas, eggplants, blueberries, midgen berries, lemon myrtle, lillipillies, cherry guavas, loquats, mangoes, olives, dragonfruit, mandarins, oranges, lemons, limes, cumquats, mulberries, passionfruit, cranberry bush, sambung, curry leaves, basil, mint, parsley, sage, oregano, spinach, tumeric, thyme, garlic chives, shallots, rosemary, nasturtiums, lavender, sunflowers – that’s what!
