Flinders win in 2022
Lota State School held its annual Sports Day with Flinders and Oxley competing for the interhouse trophy. Entering the day, only 18 points were separating the two houses. The competition was fierce, but sportsmanship was high, with lots of support between the two teams. The sprints, relays, peer support and ball games showcased many displays of athleticism. We even saw good resilience with several students tripping over mid-race but getting up and finishing their races. At the end of the day, only one team could be overall winners and a big congratulations to Flinders!

Students perform in Creative Generation
CGEN will celebrate its 18th year as Queensland’s largest youth performing arts program, providing students with exposure to the industry. Eleven students from Lota State School participated in Creative Generation State Schools Onstage (CGEN). The students have worked extremely hard over the last two months rehearsing both during school and on weekends. A huge thank you to Mrs Russo for the coordination and organisation of this amazing opportunity.
