Here’s your chance to explore a natural gallery of beautiful orchids in one place.
Brisbane Orchid Society Inc. will hold its 47th Annual Autumn Show at the Belmont International Shooting Complex Centre, located at 1485 Old Cleveland Road, Belmont.
Over the weekend of Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of May, visitors can expect to enjoy an extensive display of orchids nurtured by Orchid Society members who hail from the greater Brisbane area.
“This show is an opportunity to see and learn; there will be members available to answer any questions you may have in relation to the care and growing needs of your orchids, and there will be potting demonstrations over the weekend,” explained Brisbane Orchid Society Vice President Milton Ludlow.
“As well as members having plants for sale, there will also be several orchid vendors in attendance where you may be able to purchase an orchid or two, or buy some pots or product you may be wanting.
“The popularity of orchids is increasing, with over 25,000 species worldwide as well as hybrids, is there any wonder this hobby has grown over the past years. Orchids have become much more popular in recent years within the general public, not just the hobbyist.”
The show will be run under Covid-19 regulations with the number of patrons at any one time monitored and social distancing in place.
The Lions Club of Holland Park will be catering this event. The show is open to the public for a small entry fee of $4.
