Many people dream of taking to the stage, testing their creative chops to deliver a performance that leaves an audience in awe. Not so many people have the courage to see through their dreams. And whether an actor is performing on a Broadway stage or a small community hall, the challenge is the same: to do their absolute best to tell a story, stir emotions, and inspire.
Mercury Theatre Wynnum has been staging community theatre productions for 75 years. The group’s latest production, Scotland Road, is giving local actors the chance to tell the tale of the mysterious appearance of a woman found floating in the North Atlantic in modern times, claiming to be a Titanic survivor. It’s a dynamic script that will intrigue audiences with its psychodrama, and challenge the cast and crew.
Let’s give our local thespians and backstage crews a standing ovation and say ‘thank you’ for bringing outstanding theatre productions to life in the heart of Wynnum Manly. Bravo!
Performances of Scotland Road will run from November 1 to 17 at the Manly-Lota RSL Memorial Hall at Melville Terrace, Manly. Find out more about Mercury Theatre on page 7, and get your tickets before they sell out!
