You can dance and you can jive when Dancing Queen – The ABBA Tribute Show brings the disco era to Wynnum Manly Leagues Club for one night only this month.

Celebrating one of the world’s most enduring pop acts, this two-hour interactive dinner experience on May 28 promises an evening of laughter, singalongs, dancing and nostalgia.

Having toured nationally and performed to thousands of fans, singer Eilannin Harris-Black said audiences can expect a vibrant, high-energy show.

“My husband Jon and I have been working as ABBA tribute artists since 2019, and Dancing Queen first began performing together after the pandemic in 2022,” she said.

“I play Agnetha, my husband plays Benny, and we’re really excited to bring our new show to Queensland this year after debuting to multiple five-star reviews in Adelaide.

“The new show features a revised setlist packed with more of ABBA’s hits and our costumes are custom replicas. We’re very lucky to partner with a wonderful seamstress who has previously made costumes for the Miss Universe pageants, so there’s a lot of attention to detail and plenty of sparkle.”

More than 50 years after ABBA shot to global fame with their Waterloo victory at the Eurovision Song Contest, their catalogue continues to resonate across generations.

For Eilannin though, choosing a favourite track is no easy task.

“I’m yet to find an ABBA song I don’t like – the vocal demands are huge, so it’s a wonderful, never-ending challenge,” she said.

“I’ve got a soft spot for Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia and Waterloo, but Super Trouper has this magic power of getting people out of their seats, which is always exciting to be part of.

“ABBA’s music connects people, so we see a lot of multi-generational groups coming along, which is wonderful.”
