Australia’s number one Blues Brothers tribute show is roaring into Redlands following sold out performances across Australia.
Audiences have been raving about the show. One review declared, “Absolutely phenomenal! The band was tight, the energy was electric,” while another praised how “the band was cooking, the production was fantastic”.
The Fabulous Blues Brothers & Aretha brings the music, comedy and chaos of Jake and Elwood Blues together with the soul of Aretha Franklin, backed by a powerhouse 13-piece show band.
Billed as the biggest and most authentic version of the Blues Brothers audiences will see, songs are performed live by a rhythm section, blazing horns and vocalists. Inspired by the iconic 1980 film and Saturday Night Live, the production combines rhythm and blues, soul, gospel and comedy in one electrifying concert.
Brad Kendrick leads the charge as Joliet Jake Blues, drawing on more than 20 years performing in Blues Brothers productions internationally. American-born vocalist Asabi Goodman brings the gospel fire and vocal power of Aretha Franklin – close your eyes and you could believe the Queen of Soul is in the room.
This is not a sit-down-and-watch kind of night. Audiences are encouraged to get on their feet, sing along and dance. Dress-ups are encouraged, so pull out the black suit, hat and sunglasses and join the mission.
The Fabulous Blues Brothers & Aretha will play the RPAC Concert Hall, Cleveland, on Saturday 17 October at 7:30pm. Tickets range from $55 to $74, with group and RAMP Member prices available.
