The Bayside Spring Festival is one of our region’s most iconic community events, its origin dating back to the 1950s. Once famous for its decorated floats, community queens and vibrant street parades through Wynnum, the festival returned last year after a decade-long pause, reviving its core purpose of bringing people together to celebrate the bayside.
While the traditional parade and Spring Queen pageant are no longer part of the program, today’s festival offers a modern, family-friendly experience. Visitors can enjoy live music, dance performances, market stalls, food trucks, rides, fireworks and a wide range of free activities for children.
Presented in partnership with Wynnum Commerce Inc., the festival will once again transform George Clayton Park into a buzzy three-day celebration with something for everyone. Across the weekend, families can enjoy food trucks, a sideshow alley, a giant Ferris wheel, rides for all ages and a licensed bar for grown-ups.
Friday night features Brisbane Festival’s Manly Serenades with Thunder Fox, Eli Wan, Bring a Plate, plus two laser light shows over the bay.
Saturday delivers a full entertainment lineup hosted by local personality Ranger Stacey, including a wildlife show, the Australian Navy Band, The Kunins, Bayside Brass, Kate & Isaac, Cody Miller, Charlotte Street Jazz Band, Works Over, the Queensland Services Heritage Band Association Big Band, and students from Iona College, the Moreton Bay Colleges and Brisbane Bayside State College. Market stalls, street art, free jumping castles, free face painting, and evening fireworks round out the day.
Sunday’s highlights include the Volkswagen Drivers Club of Queensland’s 40th Day of Action, community stalls and performances from Annette Roselli Dance School, Each Ukulele Group, Wynnum RSL Pipers, Bayside Dance, Kelleher’s Dance Academy, Wynnum Choir and Dotted Beats Vitals.
