The unmistakable sight of classic Beetles, Kombis and other vintage Volkswagens will roll into Manly this September, with more than 100 iconic vehicles set to become a standout attraction at this year’s Bayside Spring Festival.

The V-Dub Drivers Club of Queensland will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its popular Action Day on Sunday, September 13, bringing together an impressive collection of restored and original models during the festival’s Community Day at George Clayton Park.

The annual gathering forms part of the wider Bayside Spring Festival, which runs from September 11 to 13, and features live entertainment, food trucks, market stalls, children’s activities, rides and fireworks.

V-Dub Drivers Club of Queensland President Gerard Ryan said the milestone event would showcase the remarkable evolution of one of the world’s most recognisable automotive brands.

“We’re expecting more than 100 Volkswagens spanning more than six decades of motoring history to be there on the day,” he said.

“Visitors will see everything from late-1950s Beetles and Kombis through to more modern models, with just about every shape and style that people associate with Volkswagen represented.”

The club is inviting motoring enthusiasts and families alike to explore the free display while also enjoying many of the festival’s other attractions.
