Currently, Manly Dragon Boat Club has been enjoying a break, but three of our members – Catherine Barnes, Charlotte Hughes and Tanya Matthews – have been training for the Aurora’s (Australia’s national Dragon Boating team) campaign.
In July, they jetted off with 20 other competitors from all over Australia for the 17th World Championship, held in Brandenburg, Germany.
For the last six months, they have been training on the water, doing gym work, attending training camps and fitness benchmarking. They have enjoyed this experience, catching up with old and new friends.
Most of their training has been done on the Brisbane River, Colmslie, or down on the Gold Coast. We wish them every success!
