After six exhilarating days of racing, the ILCA Oceania and Australian Championships wrapped up in January at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, Manly.

Featuring the world’s most popular sailing class, the regatta had everything needed for an unforgettable event. It began with brisk winds and storms, followed by beautiful yet challenging conditions on Waterloo Bay. The fleet comprised 226 sailors, including a record 96 young competitors in the ILCA 4 division, and more than half of those girls for the first time.

The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron again excelled as a world-class host, providing spacious lawns, wide launching ramps, and excellent facilities. The excitement continued in January with the Musto Australian Optimist Championships and the high-octane 18-foot skiffs, accompanied by the glamorous ‘Yot Club’ spectator trimaran, adding to the thrilling atmosphere.
