Manly Harbour Christmas Lights
This December, retailers, yacht clubs, boat owners and homeowners will combine to bring Christmas to Manly Harbour.
The Manly Harbour Christmas Lights is a month-long community event that will see the boats, houses and businesses around Manly Harbour and Manly Harbour Village light up like Christmas trees. There will be prizes for the best dressed business, house, and boat.
I encourage all Wynnum Manly residents to head down to Manly Harbour during December to check it out. The best vantage point is from the water, where night cruises will disembark from William Gunn Jetty on Friday and Saturday nights leading up till Christmas. The cruise lasts one hour and is $25 for adults and free for children under 12. Participants receive free refreshments onboard and a $14 Manly Harbour voucher upon disembarking.

Mangrove Housing drive
You still have a few more weeks to get your donations in for the Mangrove Housing Christmas drive.
Mangrove Housing is a local community housing provider that provides a holistic range of services to their clients. Every year, they put together Christmas hampers full of food and toys for community members who might not otherwise be able to afford one.
This year, my office (3A/212 Bay Terrace, Wynnum) will be a collection point for donations from the community. Mangrove Housing will accept non-perishable food and clean, unbroken toys in good condition. You can also drop donations off at their office (6/70 Andrew Street, Wynnum) or contribute by purchasing an online gift card at mangrovehousing.com.au/shop.
Last year, Mangrove Housing donated 250 hampers. Let’s see if we can beat that in 2022!
Business spotlight
I heard that Kool Beans café in Wynnum West (or Lindum, depending on how old you are) had the best bahn mi in the area, so I had to go check it out. I wasn’t disappointed! Kool Beans is located at 253-255 Sibley Road, Wynnum West. They also do catering.
Christmas cakes
Get your Christmas cakes and puddings from the Wynnum Manly Ward office! I will be selling a selection of Rotary and Lions Christmas treats throughout December while stocks last. Every year they sell out quickly, so get in fast!
