COUNCILLOR FOR WYNNUM MANLY WARD

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Wynnum Manly mothers and caregivers. I hope you all enjoy a relaxing day with family.

To the dads out there – I highly recommend taking a walk up Cambridge Parade in Manly, Bay Terrace in Wynnum or around the Wynnum Plaza to find something special from one of our unique local retailers.

St Pete’s Winter Drive

St Pete’s Pantry is running a Winter Food Drive to support our vulnerable community members experiencing food insecurity through the cold winter months.

I am a huge supporter of St Pete’s – not just because of the name! – and I am thrilled to be supporting this worthy initiative.

Please bring donations of non-perishable goods (especially tinned goods like soup, fish, spaghetti, beans, and noodles) and toiletries to my office on Monday – Friday between 8.30am – 4.30pm until 30 June.

Ampol Rotary Family Fun Day

The Rotary Club of Wynnum Manly is hosting an important event in May to recognise and support Domestic Violence Month.

Their Family Fun Day, which is supported by Ampol, will take place Sunday, 21 May at George Clayton Park. Come down from 10am for a free sausage sizzle, live music, and entertainment for the children.

This event runs in recognition and support of Domestic Violence Month.

Business Spotlight – Coffee and Bricks

This is a great café on Bay Terrace that caters to kids of all sizes.

Fans of Lego can purchase a half hour ($12) or hour long ($20) block, where they can build as many Lego sets as time permits. There’s a big selection to choose from.

Even if you’re not a fan of Lego, you can bring the kids here and keep them occupied while you drink coffee. Win-win!
