Dog lovers, mark your calendars – the Redlands is about to go barking mad once again in the best possible way.
A double dose of paws, play, and pure joy is heading your way with PuppyPalooza – hosted by the Redlands Coast Collective Markets – bringing together pet owners, pooches, and plenty of “aww” moments across two standout events this winter.
First up, a festive twist: Canine Christmas in July lands at Faith Lutheran College on July 12, promising a holly-jolly celebration, followed by the more relaxed Pups at the Pub at the Grandview Hotel on August 16.
Behind it all is organiser Nicole Kennon, whose love of dogs and markets inspired the popular events.
“Dogs are such an important part of the family, and with more people wanting to take them out on social outings rather than leaving them at home, that’s why we run this event,” she said.
Billed as the “ulti-mutt tail-wagging experience,” PuppyPalooza features a mix of pet stalls, expert advice, activities and competitions.
“I have a mix of pet specialty vendors who sell everything you could possibly imagine from collars and harnesses to coats, little hats, toys, food, treats, bedding and more,” Nicole said.
“We also have a local vet who gives out great pet advice, a trainer who can teach you and your pup a cool new trick, and a professional pet photographer to capture some happy snaps.
“We have best-dressed competitions – with festive outfits encouraged for the Canine Christmas in July market – as well as a fun runway moment at Pups at the Pub.
“We will also have a best pub-named pup competition celebrating all the cheeky, boozy-inspired dog names like Whiskey, Pino and Chardonnay.”
Don’t have a dog? No problem! Everyone is welcome – whether you’re a proud pet parent, thinking about adopting, or just someone who loves to give out lots of pats.
