FROM DENTAL ON CAMBRIDGE
In Brisbane, dental health is more than just a personal concern – it’s a pressing public issue. Recent data reveals that over 19,000 Queenslanders are hospitalised annually due to preventable dental conditions like decay, gum disease, and tooth loss. These ailments rank among the top reasons for acute, avoidable hospital admissions in the state1.
Alarmingly, nearly 90% of Queensland adults have experienced dental decay, with about 23% currently living with untreated cavities. Children aren’t exempt; in Brisbane, approximately 46% of kids aged five to 10 have decay in their baby teeth, and over 30% of those aged six to 14 have decay in their permanent teeth2.
At Dental on Cambridge, prevention is one of our key passions, as preventative care is always our preferred option to costly and invasive treatments. We offer comprehensive examination and cleans for all patients with our highly trained and experienced dentists – that’s right – each and every appointment is with a dentist. We believe that building a long-lasting relationship with your dentist is key to trusting them to take care of your oral health and provide informative and well-priced treatment options. We highly recommend six-monthly examination and clean appointments for our patients, as this is still the most effective way for our dentists to monitor any potential problems and provide effective treatment solutions BEFORE things turn into toothaches, costly root canal treatments, or cracked and broken teeth needing extraction. Has it been a while since you’ve had your clean? It’s like servicing your car; for things to continue to run smoothly, it has to make it to the top of the priority list – but we’re talking about your health, and unfortunately, it’s not replaceable like your car!
We also highly recommend the six-monthly examination and clean for children, particularly those that are already having to look after adult teeth. We only get one set of adult teeth, and it’s imperative that from a young age, these teeth aren’t already subjected to cavities and fillings in areas of the mouth that could have been prevented by regular check-ups. It’s also a great opportunity for someone other than parents to be able to influence oral health hygiene; explaining the WHY behind brushing and flossing is often critical in encouraging adherence to dental hygiene in kids. It’s also a wonderful way to show your children what to expect at the dentist and develop a healthy relationship with attending. We absolutely love seeing families and will work with you to find back-to-back or parallel appointments with our team of four dentists. We have plenty of room in our dental rooms for the whole family to attend. We also provide free kids dental treatment for eligible families under the child dental benefits scheme. For non-eligible families, we provide capped pricing for exams and up to 30% discount for dental treatment.
Are you looking for a team of professionals to support your oral health, that celebrate with you when we don’t need to see you for another six months?
