FROM REDLANDS CAMERA CLUB

Redlands Camera Club members are striving for –  and achieving –  photographic honours and distinctions from the national organisation, Australian Photographic Society (APS).  Three club members – Andrea Lago LAPS, Charlotte Carter AAPS, and Tarnjah Myers AAPS – were recently recognised for their photographic achievements.

It’s natural that there comes a time in any serious photographer’s journey when they want to venture outside of their comfort zone and push themselves even farther. This step can take many forms, and for some it means entering their photos into national and international photographic exhibitions with the aim of receiving recognition for exemplary works. Success in exhibitions with APS patronage means an entrant’s images are in the top 30% of entries, including a component required for the awards.

To be successful requires time, persistence, and the capacity to analyse one’s own images while also adjusting and improving along the way. Entering exhibitions shows where your images stand on a national and international scale, and it challenges and pushes photographers to extend their talents, experiment with new techniques, and evolve.

Congratulations to Andrea, Charlotte and Tarnjah!
