FROM THE OLD SCHOOLHOUSE GALLERY

Happy New Year from all our members at the Old SchoolHouse Gallery! We trust you had a wonderful Christmas season with family and friends and are looking forward with hopeful anticipation to all that 2025 will bring. The gallery re-opens on January 16 with new work and a new exhibition.

Photographer Mike Scott, a long-time gallery member, and his guest, artist Catherine Snobohm from Wynnum, will begin our year of exciting monthly exhibitions. Mike, who specialises in landscape photography, said he draws inspiration from the beautiful and diverse nature of the Australian landscape – in particular, the glorious Redlands coastline as depicted in many of his panoramic landscape images.

The official opening night will be the first Saturday in February from 5:00pm. Everyone is welcome to meet the artists and enjoy drinks and refreshments on the verandahs of our wonderful gallery.

Art Markets are on the agenda again this year – one in autumn and one in spring. The first is Sunday, March 30. Please contact us if you would like to participate and have a stall.

Old SchoolHouse Gallery is always looking for new artists to join our creative community – in particular 3D artists at the current time. If you are a 3D artist working in ceramics, leatherwork, fabric, jewellery, glass or any other medium who would like to be part of a community gallery, please contact us at [email protected] for more information.

We look forward to opening and welcoming you all to our special historic buildings filled with beautiful artwork and artisan gifts. We are open Thursdays to Sundays and public holidays from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
