Local Arts

Redlands College is proud to announce its upcoming event, Arts in the Atrium, which promises to be a night of exceptional artistic celebration and reflection. The event will take place on April 19, 2023, at 7pm at Redlands College in Wellington Point.

Arts in the Atrium brings together renowned international clarinetist and Director of Music and Events at Redlands College, Dr. Peter Handsworth, and past and present members of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in a mesmerising performance of two clarinet quintets by the famous composers Carl Maria von Weber and Johannes Brahms. Handsworth’s virtuosity and passion for music, combined with his leadership at Redlands College, will create a sublime experience that will transport the audience to another realm.

In addition to the musical performances, the event also showcases a special art exhibition featuring works by award-winning artist Andrew Peachey and a selection of Redlands College alumni. These talented artists include past and current finalists in the Creative Generation for Excellence in Visual Art exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to witness the beauty and creative expression of young artists who are shaping the future of Australian art.

“This event is a celebration of excellence in the arts, as well as a reflection on the rich cultural heritage that informs contemporary art practices,” says Redlands College Principal, Dr. Andrew Johnson. “We invite everyone to come and experience the beauty of music and art and appreciate the vital role that the arts play in enriching our lives.”

Arts in the Atrium promises to be a night to remember, with world-class musical performances and a stunning art exhibition that will leave audiences in awe. Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty and creativity of the arts.
