Entries now open for Redland Art Awards 2022 - The Community Leader and Real Estate New and Views

Entries are now open for the prestigious Redland Art Awards, a contemporary biennial painting competition presented by Redland Art Gallery and open to all Australian artists.

Redland Art Awards is a biennial contemporary painting competition open to all Australian artists, presented by Redland Art Gallery. Redland Art Awards 2022 features four prizes totalling $22,000. The primary award is an acquisitive prize of $15,000, with runner-up awards of $4,000 and $2,500, and The Meredith Foxton People’s Choice Award of $500.

Redland Art Gallery’s (RAG) exhibitions and events feature local, Queensland, nationally and internationally recognised artists. The exhibition program is showcased in six exhibition spaces over two locations at Cleveland and Capalaba and supports the representation of Redlands Coast’s diverse culture and heritage. The annual calendar of exhibitions and public programs
provide opportunities for the Redlands Coast community and visitors to the Redlands Coast to access and engage with the visual arts, crafts and design.

This year’s judges are Dr Fiona Foley (Badtjala artist and Senior Lecturer, Queensland College of Art, Griffith University), Dr Holly Arden (Interim Director, UQ Art Museum, Affiliate Lecturer, School of Communication and Arts), Hamish Sawyer (Director, Outer Space) and Emma Bain (Director, Redland Art Gallery).

Entries for the Redland Art Awards 2022 close on Sunday 28 August, with the winners announced on Friday 14 October and an exhibition of shortlisted works on show from Sunday 16 October until Sunday 4 December.
