The River City Interclub Print Competition is an annual photographic print competition for Queensland camera clubs. The competition celebrates the art of photographic print making and promotes interest in the print medium within the community of Queensland camera clubs.

Each year, the running of the competition is hosted by rotation of Queensland clubs, and this year the River City Print Competition was hosted by Redlands Camera Club, based at Wellington Point.

Clubs throughout Queensland were invited to submit 20 prints each, comprising four prints in each of the five topic sections. Twelve clubs from south-eastern and regional Queensland participated in this year’s competition, with a total of 240 prints submitted for judging.

Camera Club members from across southeast Queensland gathered at the Redlands Camera Club headquarters to watch the live judging. Members of Mackay Camera Group joined in via a live video link.

Each of the images was reviewed and scored by a panel of three highly experienced photographers and media professionals: The Community Leader’s Damien Lugg, commercial advertising photographer Eric Victor, and commercial photographer, speaker and educator William Long.

The combined judges’ scores for each print were used to determine the individual place getters in each section, with individual scores included in the aggregate points score for each club.

Placings in the interclub competition were determined by aggregating the individual scores for all 20 prints making up each club’s entry.

With an impressive total score, the Redlands Camera Club showcased a range of photographic skills and diverse approaches that set them apart from the competition, taking them to the top place and winning the competition.

Congratulations to the Redlands Camera Club on their well-deserved victory, and may this achievement serve as motivation for aspiring photographers to pursue their passion and creativity.
