The Bonner Update - The Community Leader and Real Estate New and Views

ROSS VASTA MP, FEDERAL MEMBER FOR BONNER

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year everyone! The beginning of a new calendar is a great time for reflection and planning.

2023 was a big year – from calling for compulsory Financial Literacy to be taught in schools, to fighting for my ‘Tunnel Vision’ project; stopping the early-turn flight path option by Airservices Australia over Wynnum-Manly and the Bayside; and pushing for cost-of-living relief from this Labor Government.

And 2024 is set to be even bigger!

My team and I are already planning some great events throughout the year, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled.
I want to hear your view, on the issues impacting you. From infrastructure to local environment projects, Moreton Island to Rochedale, every perspective counts!

If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on 3893 3488 or to email me at [email protected]

Here’s to meeting more Bonner locals and continuing to represent your priorities in Canberra!

FINANCIAL LITERACY IN SCHOOLS

January is such an exciting time of year for students! The rush of new teachers, fresh classmates, and more challenging content… I know my boys are looking forward to seeing their mates at school and getting back on the basketball court. Thank you to all our teachers who do such a wonderful job educating and nurturing our kids.

As the school year approaches, I am reminded of how positive habits and lessons learnt in younger years help create a better future for our children. That is why I am still fighting to have Financial Literacy included in our national curriculum. It is our responsibility to ensure that the next generation is equipped with the skills they need to confidently make smart personal financial decisions to benefit them and their future.

I will be continuing my ‘Financial Literacy in Schools Tour’ and fighting to have these basic life skills taught in all classrooms.

WIN A MEAT TRAY FOR AUSTRALIA DAY

What kind of grill does a spider BBQ on? A Weber.

While I’m not immune to a good Dad joke, I know quality meat is no laughing matter. We all know there’s nothing better than summer days spent with friends and family.

And that’s why I want to help make Australia Day even better with a spread of delicious meat from a local Bayside Butcher!

This year, three lucky locals will be eating extra well on the 26th, with a Meat Tray on me! Whether you’re cooking on a Weber, camp stove, gas or charcoal grill, take your feast to the next level and enjoy!

To enter the draw, head to my website, fill in your details, and tell me, ‘Your favourite thing to do on Australia Day,’ or scan the QR Code.

Good luck, and I can’t wait to read your responses!  Entries close at 5pm, Tuesday the 23rd of January.
