$4 million to rebuild Carmichael Park

Before the election, I was proud to secure $4 million in federal government funding to rebuild and expand Carmichael Park after the devastating February Floods. I am pleased to say that this funding has been honoured by the new government. Whether you are passionate about sport or looking for a place to take the family for a night out, the masterplan for Carmichael Park will see the creation of culture hub for all the community to enjoy. Not only will there be infrastructure upgrades to both the Wynnum Wolves FC and Wynnum-Manly Cricket Club, but there will also be a family club house, art precinct, array of dining options and a canoeing adventure trail along Bulimba Creek. This much needed investment into our local community will help create jobs and leave a legacy for future generations to enjoy. I look forward to keeping you updated on its progress.

Lindum Crossing Update

In early November, the Brisbane City Council started ground works for the design of the short-term signalisation project at Lindum Crossing. The short-term signalisation project will see the installation of traffic lights as part of Stage Two of the safety upgrades. It’s fantastic to see further work progressing on this vital project, with the final concept design for Stage 3 still under investigation by Council. I am proud to have secured $85 million for Lindum Crossing to help families get home sooner and safer. To keep up to date with the latest developments from Brisbane City Council, you can call the projects team on 1800 669 416 or email [email protected]. For after hours, please call Council’s 24-hour Contact Centre on 3403 8888.
