The Eastern District Orchid Society Inc. (EDOS) is excited to welcome visitors to its Autumn Show, to be held at the Belmont Shooting Complex (1485 Old Cleveland Road, Belmont – entry via Old Cleveland Road) on April 5 and 6, 2025.
This vibrant event will showcase a stunning array of orchids in all shapes, sizes, and colours. Whether an experienced grower or a newcomer to the hobby, visitors will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of orchids, including easy-to-grow species that require minimal maintenance. Knowledgeable growers will be available to offer advice and recommendations, and live potting demonstrations will provide valuable insights into proper orchid care.
With more people embracing apartment and small-block living, orchids are an ideal choice for those with limited space. Thriving in pots filled with bark and other clean growing media, they offer a low-maintenance way to bring natural beauty into any home, whether on a balcony, patio, or indoors.
A highlight of the show will be the extensive plant sales area, where attendees can purchase both species and hybrid orchids, many of them in bloom. Brisbane Orchid Supplies will also be on-site, offering a range of orchid care essentials, including pots, labels, potting mix, and pest control products.
The show will be open on Saturday April 5 from 8:30am to 4:00pm and Sunday April 6 from 8:30am to 2:00pm. Admission is $4 for adults, while children under 14 can enter for free. With ample parking and a wheelchair-friendly venue, the show promises to be an enjoyable event for all.
