Music lovers and rugby fans alike are in for a rare treat when the prestigious British Lions Male Choir performs in the heart of Redlands on Sunday July 20. In what promises to be a stirring afternoon of song and spirit, the choir will take to the stage at the Sheldon Event Centre from 3:00pm to 5:00pm – and admission is free.
Formed of voices from across England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, the British Lions Male Choir is the official choir of the British and Irish Lions rugby team. Their visit to Australia marks a special cultural moment tied to the 2025 Lions Tour, and their Redlands appearance is one of only a handful of public performances.
Audiences can expect a rousing repertoire, with everything from show tunes and operatic classics to cherished traditional ballads delivered in rich four-part harmony. Known for their powerful performances and deep sense of camaraderie, the choir brings with them not just music, but a sense of shared heritage and joy.
Student performers from Sheldon College will also appear alongside the choir, offering a glimpse into the college’s vibrant arts culture and giving the afternoon a collaborative, community-focused feel.
A bar and light refreshments will be available from 2:30pm, with seating for the concert commencing shortly thereafter. Although there is no cost to attend, places are limited, and bookings must be secured online via the TryBooking website.
