FEDERAL MEMBER FOR BONNER

Thank You

I am so excited to have been elected as the new Federal Member for Bonner. Thank you to our local community for placing your trust in me. It is an honour to be elected to federal parliament, and I will work hard every single day to serve you. My campaign was built on listening, on hope, and on a shared belief that our community deserves strong, compassionate and practical representation, and I will take this into everything I do as your member.

I also want to acknowledge and thank all of my volunteers who poured their hearts into my campaign and supported me every step of the way – I could not have done it without them.

I am already hard at work to deliver on our important election commitments, including:

  • A NEW Medicare Urgent Care Clinic
  • Continuing FREE TAFE
  • Cutting student debt by 20%
  • Funding $1.5 million for the OzFish Oyster Recycling Centre to help restore our native oyster reefs in the Bay
  • Investing $1 million to upgrade the Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club and a $500,000 investment to upgrade the Wynnum Manly District Men’s Shed.

My office is now open on 69 Clara Street, Wynnum, from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. If you need support with a Federal matter or would like to get in touch with me, please feel free to give my office a call. My lovely team is always here to help. My office will be a hub to support the community, and I have set up a community pantry for those who need it – donations are always welcome! The lovely men at the Wynnum Manly Men’s Shed are also in the process of building a community library for the front of the office, which we hope to open in the coming weeks.

Thank you again for placing your faith in me – I will not let you down and look forward to seeing you out and about in our wonderful community.

Out and about in the community

I have been so fortunate since my election to be invited to meet so many fantastic community organisations and businesses. It was a pleasure to help celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Wynnum Ladybugs Netball team at the Waterloo Bay Hotel, help keep our bush clean with the awesome Lota Creek Bushcare Group as well as Lota State School, and then to celebrate World Environment Day with planting organised by B4C at the Port of Brisbane. We have celebrated the re-opening of Wynnum Community Place, enjoyed mornings
by the bay at the Manly Creative Markets, and got to leave a handprint on the mural for the Gundala Kindergarten at their recent unveiling.  I am very excited for the Wynnum Fringe festival in July, so make sure you RSVP, and I’ll see you there!
