FEDERAL MEMBER FOR BONNER
Ministerial Visits
It was a pleasure to have the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Richard Marles, visit the Wynnum Manly & Districts Men’s Shed last month to meet the local members, many of whom are former servicemen. I was also able to introduce Andrew Giles, the Minister for Skills and Training, to many of our amazing local apprentices who are repairing EVs and building switchboards right here in Bonner and are benefiting from our Government’s Key Apprenticeship Program. The program provides up to $10,000 in financial support to people starting a career in clean energy or housing construction.
Seniors Month Expo
Calling all Bayside Seniors, be sure to save the date, because on 21 October from 9am – 12pm I will be hosting the Annual Bonner Seniors Expo, at the Waterloo Bay Leisure Centre. This is a great opportunity for seniors to hear about all the opportunities there are through organisations, grants, discounts, events and more for our senior’s community. If you are an organisation, group or provider interested in being involved please get in touch with my office.

Mobile Offices
Over the month of August, I will be holding multiple mobile offices. If you want to drop in to have a chat with me or have an issue you want to bring to my attention, or just want to say ‘Hi’, I would love to see you there.
- Manly Creative Markets: 9:00am to 10:00am, August 3
- The Shed (Behind 116 Bay Terrace, Wynnum): 9:30am to 10:30am, August 15

Community Pantry
I am very grateful for all the donations to my office community pantry, so be sure to spread the word that if you know of anyone in the Bayside community who might be doing it tough and needs some free food items, they are always welcome to drop into my office. My office is also now a collection point for, DV Safe Phone, Share the Dignity and the Nappy Collective, so if you ever have any clean toiletry items or an old phone to donate please know we are accepting donations.
