It has been an incredible privilege to serve as your local Federal Member, and I am humbled to be re-elected for a fifth consecutive term. I want to take the time to thank my team, incredible volunteers, and my family. Most importantly though, I want to thank the people of Bonner especially our wonderful Bayside community.
The Bayside area is a great place to live and raise a family. I am proud to have delivered federal funding for many projects over the years to make our community safer and to provide more opportunities for families to connect and get ahead. This includes $85 million for the Lindum Crossing upgrade, with stage 2 works underway to improve safety for motorists, pedestrians, and commuters. I have also worked with BABI Youth & Family Service to secure over $972,000 for a new youth space to support high-risk youths and delivered over $700,000 for the new Lota Skatepark. The $4 million I delivered to rebuild and expand Carmichael Park following the recent devastation from the Queensland floods will allow the Wynnum Wolves FC to execute their Master Plan, creating a flood resilient community centre and sport precinct for all to enjoy. It has also been a privilege to advocate for federal grants for local groups such as Bayside Sea Scouts, Manly Lota RSL, Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club and Sailability.
