Fuel security in focus as Prime Minister visits Bonner
Bonner plays an important role in Australia’s energy security, with the Ampol Lytton Refinery supporting close to 1,000 local jobs and contributing to the nation’s fuel supply.
The Prime Minister’s recent visit to the electorate highlighted just how important our community is to Australia’s fuel security.
Facilities like the Lytton refinery help ensure Australia can respond to global supply pressures, strengthen fuel security and reduce pressure on prices, and with cost of living front of mind for many families, reliable and affordable fuel supply remains an important part of the solution.
Parliament Update
Parliament has recently focused on practical reforms aimed at easing cost of living pressures and improving fairness for Australians.
New legislation is progressing to crack down on excessive credit card surcharges, ensuring customers are not hit with hidden fees at the checkout.
There are also reforms underway to reduce gambling advertising, particularly to better protect young people from exposure.
Access to mental health support is expanding through Medicare Mental Health, making it easier for Australians to access free, evidence-based digital support without the need for a referral.
The Government has also moved to abolish junior pay rates in certain sectors, ensuring young workers are paid fairly for the work they do.
These reforms are part of a broader effort to make everyday systems fairer, while providing targeted support to households navigating ongoing cost of living pressures.

Medicare Urgent Care Clinic Update
Access to affordable, timely healthcare continues to improve in Bonner, with two Medicare Urgent Care Clinics now operating extended hours across the electorate. More than 5,300 patients have already been seen across both clinics.
The Carina–Carindale clinic operates from 8am to 10pm at 805 Old Cleveland Road, Carina.
The Capalaba clinic operates from 7am to 9pm at 2/8 Dollery Road, Capalaba.
These clinics provide free, walk-in care close to home, easing pressure on emergency departments and ensuring timely treatment when you need it most.
