This winter, the Wynnum Manly Yacht Club (WMYC) will once again transform its waterfront clubhouse into a vibrant gallery for the WMYC Art Awards 2026 – Art by the Bay.
From 19 June to 2 July, visitors can enjoy a nautical-themed exhibition celebrating the sea, shoreline and bayside life. Open during club and Captain’s Parrot Café hours, the exhibition invites the community to view, vote in the People’s Choice Award, and purchase original artworks.
Entries are open now until 5 June for artists of all levels across painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. The theme, Nautical, captures everything from mermaids, boats and seabirds to light, weather and coastal stories.
With a strong reputation for supporting both emerging and established local and national artists, the WMYC Art Awards offer valuable exposure and the chance to connect with a wide audience.
Prizes include:
- 2D Category: $350 + $600 Fantastic Framing voucher
- 3D Category: $350 + $500 Fairfield Travel voucher
- People’s Choice: $300 + Mont Marte art supplies
A highlight is the Gala Awards Night on Saturday, 27 June, with celebrations from 4:00pm and awards announced at 5:30pm. Guests will enjoy canapés, a complimentary glass of wine, live entertainment and a stunning marina backdrop. There will also be a generous raffle with proceeds supporting Sails at Bayside.
This popular event will sell out quickly, so the community is encouraged to secure tickets early.
