Car enthusiasts of all ages can expect a spectacular showcase of automotive history when some of the state’s finest machines roll into Manly for the annual Corvettes on the Bay event.
Hosted by the Queensland Corvette Club, around 65 vehicles are expected to fill George Clayton Park from 8:00am to 1:00pm on Sunday, August 23, giving the community the chance to admire everything from beautifully restored classics to modern performance cars.
On display will be an impressive lineup of Corvettes spanning decades – from the legendary C1, produced by Chevrolet between 1953 and 1962, through to the latest C8, which has been in production since 2020 – representing the eighth generation of the iconic model.
Queensland Corvette Club Secretary Mark Hall said the event will be a fun morning out for families.
“Whether you’re a lifelong enthusiast or just enjoy admiring beautiful cars, there’s something for everyone,” he said.
“Our members really enjoy events like this because it gives them a chance to show off their prized possessions and share the stories of their machines with fellow car lovers.
“This will be the fourth time we have held the event in Manly, and we look forward to it every year.”
Also joining the lineup will be a selection of muscle cars, including Mustangs and Pontiacs, courtesy of several invited car clubs.
The event also serves as a fundraiser for two worthy causes, with the club supporting Camp Quality and Rosies.
“These are two organisations we have supported for a number of years, and we are glad we can help them continue the great work they do,” Mark said.
“Rosies will be there on the day supporting the event and will have collection buckets available for anyone wishing to make a donation.”
Entry is free for spectators who would like to wander through the displays.
