The Brisbane Kite Festival is back for another year, bringing colour, fun and community spirit to the Minnippi Parklands at Tingalpa.
Organised by the dedicated volunteers from the Rotary Clubs of Brisbane South East and Carindale, the festival has become a much-loved local family day out, with free entry, a wide range of food options and plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained.
Festival-goers can fly their own kites, enjoy a famous Rotary sausage sizzle, dozens of food vendors, rides, community stalls and children’s activities throughout the day.
Thanks to the RE/MAX Morningside Kids’ Zone, children can also enjoy a sensory play area and performances from Johnny the Jester.
Free water refill stations will be available thanks to Urban Utilities, and families can also enjoy a free train ride from Container Street, Tingalpa, to Stanton Road West, proudly sponsored by outdoor play experts, Vuly Trampolines.
Families are encouraged to slip, slop, slap, bring a hat, water bottle, picnic rug and their own kite, and if you don’t have one, no worries, kites will be available to purchase on the day.
The venue is wheelchair-accessible, and while on-site parking is available, it fills quickly. Please consider parking on Kate St, Carina, or Container St, Tingalpa.
The Brisbane Kite Festival will take place on Sunday, 23 August 2026, from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the Tingalpa Model Aero Club, Stanton Road West, Tingalpa.
