FROM REDLANDS HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

Redlands Hockey Association (RHA) is affiliated with Hockey Queensland and Hockey Australia and was first established in 2008. Winter fixtures are played on Saturdays from April to September, and a short summer program runs in October/November at Henry Ziegenfusz Park in Cleveland.

Hockey is one of the few sports that is able to offer full family participation and at Redlands we have a team for everyone. We have rookies for U7 years through to J1s in the junior competitions (all mixed teams) as well as senior men’s and women’s teams. We have over 350 members with around 30 teams across a range of age divisions, so will have a team to suit everyone.

Redlands has a strong family focus that encourages participation at all levels of fitness and ability and has many families playing together for example fathers and sons and mothers and daughters in our senior divisions. Whatever your age or ability, RHA will have a team for you.

Redlands also provide many development opportunities such as skills clinics and representative hockey at state championships and other carnivals throughout the year.

To further develop our members, RHA provides guidance and tuition within umpiring and coaching roles. These opportunities are a great way to develop leadership skills, build trust and responsibility in our members. A number of our members have been able to achieve Hockey Queensland and Hockey Australia coaching and umpiring accreditation at various levels.

Throughout the year, RHA run many school hockey programs in our local schools for a range of ages. These programs are run during school hours and after school and are designed to promote fun and fitness and encourage students to take up hockey.

If you would like to have some fun, while improving your fitness and would like to give hockey a go, we would love to hear from you. For more information, please contact [email protected].
