RedCity Roar will welcome a new club to its junior competition in 2024.

RedCity Roar Basketball Inc. will welcome the Victoria Point Sharks Basketball Club as the eighth club of the RedCity family in 2024. The new club will train at the recently refurbished indoor court at Victoria Point State High School and be managed by a committee under the umbrella of the Sharks Sporting Club.

“This is a great outcome for our association and the Victoria Point community,” said RedCity Roar GM Peter Pollack.

“Getting access to a facility like this is a blessing. We will be able to offer better access to training and perhaps fixture games to students across the southern suburbs of Redlands.

“Our plan in ‘growing the game’ was to place clubs locally around available facilities. This fuelled our growth over our first three years, however our membership has plateaued over the last year because we have nowhere for kids to train. All clubs have waiting lists.”

Mr Pollack expects the Sharks to grow rapidly in 2024.

Player registrations can be made via the RedCity Roar website (redcityroar.com.au) for those interested in playing for the under 10s through to under 18s. For any enquiries email [email protected].
