The BMD Wynnum Manly Seagulls will take on the Brisbane Broncos in an NRL trial match at BMD Kougari Oval on Saturday February 12 at 4pm.
The Seagulls have been training well and are looking forward to the clash against their NRL affiliate ahead of the 2022 season. The local club recently had 12 players sign NRL contracts after very two successful campaigns and have some great talent coming through their academy ready to take the step into the HostPlus Cup team. Pre-season has been building strongly, and assistant coach Daryl Short says he’s been impressed by the squad at training. “We’re rolling along nicely and we have big expectations this season. We expect to contend for the premiership in the Cup and Colts teams,” said Daryl.
The highly anticipated contest will see Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters use a likely full-strength lineup against the Seagulls in preparation for their own NRL campaign.
