Redlands United’s Red Devils have had a busy few months. Playing in Queensland’s National Premier League men’s competition (NPL Men’s), the Red Devils played six games during the five weeks of April, which included both Easter and Anzac Day.

They played two games in the Kappa Pro-Series competition for a win and a draw (one home and one away), one mid-week away game in the Australia Cup for a win, and three NPL men’s fixtures (one home and two away). This included a washed out away game on the Sunshine Coast, which was replayed on the following Tuesday evening, for a win and the Devils completed the month with two narrow losses to the competition leaders.

Goals were spread throughout the squad with strikers Guil Santana (4), Dylan Tate (2) and Peter Klaassen (1), midfielders Ryo Emoto (1), Deane Alterio (1) and defenders Max Ellenger (3), Dylan Brent (1) and Dylan Leggett (1) all getting on the scoresheet.

The beginning of May saw the Red Devils away from home again, this time at Newmarket against Brisbane City. A 4-1 away win over City gained another valuable three points for the Red Devils, moving them into the top six on the NPL men’s competition ladder.

“We have a squad of 23 players who push each other at training. They work for one another and care so much for our common cause,” says Redlands United head coach Daniel Varma. “We all know our capabilities, our potential and our standard and it’s fantastic to see we are beginning to achieve it. Your head coach is proud of you gents. Our football. Our way.”
